NicknameGenerator’s editorial policy explains how the NicknameGenerator Editorial Team builds and checks nickname pages: every recipe must state the naming rule it follows with a source, symbols are recorded as works, blocked or shows as a box only after a dated test, and pages are reviewed every 180 days with corrections logged by date.
Sourcing naming rules
A recipe page must answer “what rule does this follow?” in a way someone could check: a pattern, a reference work, and real examples. If we cannot explain and source the rule, the page is not published. If we do not know something, the page says so.
Testing symbols and fancy letters
- The exact text is pasted into the name or display-name field of the platform.
- We record the device, the app or game version and the date.
- The result is written as works, blocked or shows as a box.
- Untested items say “not yet tested”. Reader results are added only with device, version and date.
Review schedule
Every page is reviewed every 180 days, and symbol results are re-tested when a platform changes its name rules.
What we never publish
- Nicknames built from accents, food words, clichés or caricatures of a culture or group.
- Names that insult, impersonate, or reference real crimes; dark themes are for fiction only.
- Logos, artwork or content copied from games and franchises.
